Picture Perfect

Say cheese! Yesterday, Reese had her second photo shoot with Happinest Photography (http://happinestphoto.com). Janelle and her intern Lexi came to our house to shoot one year pics (thanks to grandma and grandpa for giving Reese the sitting fee for her bday:)) I found myself being reminiscent of last year around this time when we shot her newborn pics. Janelle took a few shots on the same chair as last year, the one from my grandma's house that we have a photo of my mom on when she was a little girl. What a difference a year made...from a sleeping, curled up bundle, to a vibrant one-year-old standing up backwards on the chair, bouncing and yucking it up.
Some other shots included playing with some pretend presents Janelle brought. She was pretending to rock the presents like a baby, which she accomplished by grabbing the bow and whipping it back and forth in front of her. (She does the same thing with her baby doll, but "rocks" her by swinging her by the hair!)
We thought Reese would love playing with the pearl necklaces we had draped around her nakey body for a few shots, but quickly discovered she was not happy...we think she was too chilly. I guess it was a little presumptuous to think she'd like having no clothes on in February...ahh the pains we go through for beauty shots:)
I've been realizing lately (and for a while now) how blessed we are to have this little one-year-old in our life. It's such a fun age where Reese's true personality is shining through. She just cracks us up all the time...puts our mind on what is truly important in life.
"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said, 'I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
